We spoke to Mats and Trond back in 2003 and a lot has happened since then. Their visualisation company has expanded and now concentrates solely on architectural work and they've just added animation to their services. NewTek Europe caught up with them...

So, what have you been up to since the last time we spoke?

Trond: Our company has expanded, and we are now five people dedicated to architectural visualisation. Also, I just finished restoring my old Alfa Romeo sports car, but that was before the engine blew up and I had to start all over! :-) Mats has some depressing car-stories to tell too, but I'll leave that up to him to talk about.bla bla

Mats: I won't even start talking about my car... It's a disaster.bla bla
Increased demand for our services has forced us to make some changes; We now work 100% with architectural projects. Our heart has always been in the architecture-field, so we feel really lucky to be able to go that way. Our clients seems to appreciate this, and we are very happy to say that we no longer have to do underpaid work on less interesting projects.

What have you worked on recently?

Trond: Actually, we have been doing a lot of international projects. Since we got English web-pages, we have worked on projects in Iceland, Latvia, Kuwait, China - all over the place.

Mats: We just finished our first large scale animation project for the New York-based architectural office S O M. Very time-consuming and challenging, but we are happy with the result, and have learned a lot.
The client was very pleased.
For the last few months we have also been working on some very interesting city development projects in Xian and Riga. With Norwegian architects Spacegroup on Riga, and the Danish company Transform on Xian. The projects can be seen on our web-page.

Where did you go on holiday last year (as mentioned on your site)?

Trond: I went to Berlin in Germany to relax and to Vienna in Austria to see a friend of mine getting married. Also, my parents have a beautiful place by the sea here in Norway, where I just relaxed and went fishing.

Mats: I spent two weeks with my girl in northern Italy driving a rental Ferrari, the F430, around the Alps and the great lakes. Didn't that sound too god to be true?

Was the Ferrari a way to reward yourself for not being able to successfully repair your own car?

Mats: You read me like an open book. I felt that the 430 gave me just the thrill I had been looking for - only multiplied by 500. ;)

Did you get some of what you asked for in LightWave last time we talked?

Mats: Yes, I believe we got about everything.

Trond: With FPrime, we have no worries any more.

Have you tried LWCAD?

Trond: That one I think Jan-Erik should answer. He is the newest member of our crew and always knows about stuff like that :)

Jan-Erik: I have used LWCAD for several projects now. It has many powerful tools that improve architectural modelling for LightWave. It makes modelling very efficient and precise due to its snap panel. A result of this is that you can do more of the modelling in the perspective view which can be nice. After some experience with using LWCAD I found my way of using the best from both (LightWave and LWCAD). One problem with LWCAD is that it gets slow when working on big objects. Even though LWCAD is great, there are always methods of achieving the same goal with LightWave's own built-in tools.
